TIGER – A PROJECT TO ENERGISE THE GROWTH OF THE TIDAL ENERGY INDUSTRY
The Tidal Stream Energy Industry Energiser, or TIGER, is the largest project ever funded by Interreg, aiming to stimulate collaboration and cost reduction through the installation of tidal turbines in France and Britain.
The TIGER project will stimulate the growth of tidal energy and its integration into the energy mix, bringing significant benefits to coastal communities.
Duration: 2019 - 2023
Program: Interreg France (Channel) England Programme
Budget: Total project cost € 45.4 million
Partners: 18 partners based in the UK and France
The project is being led by the British research center OREC "Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult" based in Hayle, Cornwall.

The partners
TIGER includes 18 partners based in the UK and France. These include turbine developers, tidal power demonstration sites, universities, research organizations, and local and regional authorities.
Normandie Hydroliennes (NH) partner of the TIGER project
With the support of TIGER, Normandie Hydroliennes (NH) will operate the new generation of Proteus MR AR series turbines, which were developed during this project. This new AR3000 turbine is the most powerful single-axis turbine ever produced in the world, with an output of 3 megawatts each. The AR3000 turbine has the potential to produce up to twice the power of previous systems. Four of these turbines will be deployed at the NH1 pilot farm in Raz Blanchard.
